About Ronald Blue Trust Project
The Lakefront at Keystone Building 4 was originally constructed in 1999 and during its latest renovation, the tenants Ronald Blue Trust updated their 15,000 square foot Indianapolis office. When they moved in, the need for more flexible space became apparent yet they didn’t want to block the view of the peaceful lake outside. They desired to create a timeless, welcoming space with the flexibility to have separate meeting places when necessary. A Modernfold moveable glass wall with clear anodized horizontal rails was selected to meet these specific needs.
Project Overview:
The Modernfold DRS rail system that was provided by CIH and used in this project allowed for innovative design with quality materials and features such as a pivot panel closure to be used as a pass door. The pass door includes a hydraulic door closer and satin stainless anodized push/pull hardware. The glass wall consists of 1/2″ thick clear glass which was used to impart a comfortable and calming feeling in the space that is very inviting. Floor bolts were used as a locking mechanism with the bottom rails to meet ADA requirements.
“The design intention from the get-go was to honor their traditional roots- yet also make their space comfortable for clients. A polished office was important to Ron Blue, but we needed to be fiscally responsible”, said Briana Dunkin, Principal Designer at Parallel Design Group, the projects interior design firm. The glass wall was installed in two sections that combine together at a column. The combined 40 – foot glass wall gives users the ability to close off a conference area to have private smaller meetings yet offers the flexibility to open up the area to host events in the contemporary style lobby.
